About the 4S Ranch Library

The 4S Ranch Library is the 33rd in the San Diego County Library system and is one of the top five busiest! The library was built by the Newland Communities as part of its 4S Ranch development agreement with the County.

The library officially opened its doors on April 26, 2007 and is operated and staffed by the County of San Diego. Because the County budgets for a basic level of staffing and service, donations and contributions are welcomed and encouraged by all that frequent the library. These funds that are raised by the Friends of the 4S Ranch Library, are then used for additional materials, supplies, and programs that patrons of the community continue to enjoy. To date, the branch boasts state-of-the-art amenities including wireless access, self -checkout machines, many public computers, and brand new books and materials throughout.

The library offers many programs for families with a wide variety for adults, teens and children.
